This specially-priced set collects the first six novels in the Kron Darkbow series of The Ursian Chronicles.

CITY OF ROGUES Book I of The Kobalos Trilogy

Kron Darkbow seeks vengeance, and he plans to have it no matter the costs. Returning to the city of his birth after 15 years, he hunts down the wizard responsible for the deaths of those he loved only to find out another was responsible for the murders. That other is Belgad the Liar, a former barbarian chieftain who is now boss of the city's underworld.

ROAD TO WRATH Book II of The Kobalos Trilogy

Kron Darkbow has fled the city of Bond, along with healer mage Randall Tendbones and professional duelist Adara Corvus. Everywhere they turn are enemies.

Even the goal of their travels offers no peace, for the group rides to the land of Kobalos where Randall must face that nation’s Lord Verkain, the alleged Dark King of the North.

DARK KING OF THE NORTH Book III of The Kobalos Trilogy

Kron Darkbow and companions have survived the mean streets of the city of Bond and the dangers of the Prison Lands, but now they dare to journey into Kobalos, a dark northern land ruled by King Verkain, a powerful mage rumored to be immortal and mad.

Always on their trail is underworld crime boss Belgad the Liar and his crew of deadly killers. Not only does Belgad seek vengeance against Kron, but he also wants to capture Kron's friend, the healer Randall Tendbones, the last of Verkain's children whom the king wants dead.

It is in Kobalos, in the darkest of hours, alone with enemies all around, Darkbow becomes the last hope for all. But to defeat his foes, first he must learn to defeat his own rage.

GHOSTS OF THE ASYLUM Book I of The Horrors of Bond Trilogy

The streets of the city of Bond boil with discontent.

Political struggles within a power vacuum bring dreams of dominance to some among the lower levels of the city’s underbelly. Common thugs and guild bosses alike conspire together, their goal to eliminate the figure of Kron Darkbow.

Permanently.

Kron has become a symbol on the streets, and his removal would not only clear the way for others, but also would be a sign of who has the real power in Bond.

Amidst the chaos, buildings burn, riots go nearly unchecked, and even the city guard find themselves forced to retreat.

DEMON CHAINS Book II of The Horrors of Bond Trilogy

A sick murderer stalks the streets of the city of Bond.

The killer leaves behind tortured and twisted bodies sliced and ripped apart, often after the most horrible of violations.

It falls upon Kron Darkbow to hunt this killer preying upon the weak and the strong alike, but he soon realizes there is more than one culprit involved in these horrible crimes. A dark mage and his demon partner are at fault, and with each death they grow more and more powerful.

THE COMPANY OF SEVEN Book III of The Horrors of Bond Trilogy

An undead mage thousands of years old slinks through the city of Bond.

Rising up from beneath the soil, he soon finds himself allied with escaped fugitives from the Prisonlands, a former knight, a pair of assassins and the chief of thieves.

Each has their own wants, their own goals, but the wizard's are the most deadly to the citizens of Bond, and he refuses to be denied his destiny.

Spotting healer and wizard Randall Tendbones as a threat, a plan is soon hatched to remove him permenantly, but swordsman Kron Darkbow might have something to say about that.

But Tendbones is only the beginning, for the murder of thousands is in the works, and unless Kron can put a stop to the terrors stalking Bond, the devastation will reach across all levels of the city and beyond.

The Darkbow Collection Six Epic Fantasy Novels The Kobalos Trilogy and The Horrors of Bond Trilogy eBook Ty Johnston

This collection òf 6 books - 2 trilogies - had great characters - some loved, some despised . The characters were richly developed and memorable .
I enjoyed the stories immensely . The first trilogy was very well written and very well edited . The second trilogy, while having above average storytelling , had below average editing . Many mispelled words, missing words, poor syntax and other signs of lax editing made the reading experience choppy.
Even considering the poor editing , I still give the book 4 stars.
Would love to read more by Ty Johnston but will check reviews first for editing issues.

The Darkbow Collection Six Epic Fantasy Novels The Kobalos Trilogy and The Horrors of Bond Trilogy eBook Ty Johnston Reviews

All in all, a decent collection. Like many multi volume sets, it started very well and then gradually fell off.

SPOILER ALERT!

The author appears to have trouble with with writing about male female relationships, since he kills off both ot the main characters love interests. That would not have been too bad if a secondary character had not bailed out the hero. The actions of that character were not terribly unforeseen, but the way it was written was a lot like deus ex machina.
I enjoyed books 1-4... good pace, good character development, and kept me interested. Book 5 was too dark for me and I had a hard time finishing it. Book 6 had took a long time to get into the actual story (I think pretty much everything happened in about the last 6 chapters) and the only reason I DID finish it was because it was the last in the series. Overall, I liked the series, but I found the last 2 books to be almost unnnecessary.
I found these books well written. Not sure why some people say he needed an editor? What I like is the book is fast paced enough to keep my interest but deep enough on character development to catch my attention. I found the reading went well, not loaded with all sorts of attempts to equal Lord of the Rings. So a good read and equal with any well written fantasy novel series. What I can say is in the later books of the series he gets too dark. His villain is a sexual predator of children, I found that not useful at all. The villain was bad enough without that aspect. Aside from that though, good books for a fantasy series.
A sexy dark hero who can become an almost supernatural killer; but only for the side of good. Magic, superstition and uncontrolled evil makes for an exciting storyline! A tiny bit of sex, but stays true to the main theme of horrible evil bring thwarted by Darkbow and his friends. Love it!
The story kicks off quickly and suddenly you are introduced to the hero, Kron Darkbow. Tall, dark, handsome and a highly skilled fighter, Kron is a flawed individual. Seeing everything in black and white and impatient for revenge of the death of his parents, Kron leaves a trail of death and destruction across several nations. The trilogy takes the reader down multiple paths where Kron fights against the most evil of monsters. Reading from the first to the last book consequently is critical for watching how Kron changes over time. The only con is that the writing is rather stiff throughout. Some word choices distract from the story and interrupt the flow.
Rarely do I put down a book (or anthology) without finishing it. This was one of those cases. The first book was okay, but far from excellent. The second book cemented my decision to abandon the storyline, but I gritted my teeth and finished the third book, just to reach a decent stopping point in the story. The author has some great ideas (high magic, low magic, etc.) and the overarching story has all the hallmarks of an epic sword and sorcery tale, but there are too many problems to overlook. Characters do not act and react consistently. Their abilities seem to wax and wane to fit the story rather than the story being shaped by the characters. Grammatical and spelling errors abound. A talented editor could help shape this into an amazing volume, but I felt like I was reading the second draft written by a middle-schooler. All in all, not worthy of the time required to read it.
If one can get past the editing errors and auto spellcheck that plagues most of us that learned to write carefully (and beautifully with hours of practice and no little artistry) by hand before the age of electronics, there is some very good storytelling here. There are a few continuity errors w clothing & such-someone loses a glove but has it again a few scenes later. But again, I think this is editing errors when the author was parsing out longer scenes to make the story more streamlined.
I found the characters fully developed and likable. Even the ones on the margins of society with questionable ethics simply trying to get by in an imperfect world. Buy the end of the books I was definitely enamored with the characters and wanted another trilogy.
